History of Hvitträsk
Hvitträsk is a National Romantic studio home and a total work of art completed in 1903 by the architect trio Herman Gesellius, Armas Lindgren and Eliel Saarinen. Built on the shores of Lake Vitträsk, Hvitträsk served as both the architects’ home and workplace. The architectural firm Gesellius, Lindgren, Saarinen gained international acclaim through projects such as the Finnish Pavilion at the Paris World Fair and the National Museum of Finland. Open to the public since 1971, Hvitträsk is a popular destination for lovers of design, art and architecture.
