The Imperial Fishing Lodge at Langinkoski was built in the late 1880s as a summer retreat for Russian Emperor Alexander III. Although modest for an imperial residence, the lodge’s style exudes a simple elegance. The museum area features several buildings from the imperial era, surrounded by a nature reserve. The lodge has served as a museum since the 1930s.

‘I am certain to come back here one day!’ said Russia’s future Czar, Alexander III, in the summer of 1880 while visiting the beautiful Langinkoski and its surroundings. And sure enough, a fishing lodge was built for the imperial family, so that they could take time off from the rigours of court life in Saint Petersburg and enjoy fishing, chopping firewood, cooking and spending time in each other’s company.
Come and enjoy the imperial atmosphere, and the peace and tranquillity of the National Urban Park!
