The Langinkoski Nature Reserve and Museum is situated south of the Helsinki–Virolahti road (Highway 7) in the city of Kotka, in the delta of the eastern main branch of the Kymijoki River. Langinkoski is 130 km from Helsinki and 53 km from Kouvola.
The car parks at Langinkoski are situated at the end of Keisarinmajantie (Kotka) and along Langinkoskentie (Kotka). The main routes pass by the car parks.
There are public transport links to Langinkoski from Kotka city centre and elsewhere in the region.
Local buses: Local bus routes 12, 13, 14 and 15 run regularly from Kotka city centre (for example, from Keskuskatu) to Langinkoski. Bus stop: Get off the bus on Langinkoskentie at the University of Applied Sciences, from where it is only about a 150-metre walk across the bridge.
Train connection: The commuter train between Kouvola and Kotka stops at Paimenportti station, from where it is about a 2.2-kilometre walk to Langinkoski.
Langinkoski is a summer museum, open in May from Monday to Sunday, 10.00–16.00.
In June, July and August, Langinkoski is open daily from 11.00–18.00.

The ticket office is located at Fishing Lodge.
The museum’s tour guides shared colourful stories about emperors, fishermen and life on the banks of the rapids. Guided tours are held from 12 June to 16 August at 2 pm. Groups of more than 10 people can book a guided tour for a fee. Read more about the guided tours.
The Museum shop is located at the Fishing lodge. It is open during museum opening hours.
Café Dagmar is located in the caretaker’s house. As well as a selection of pastries and refreshing drinks, the café also offers savoury snacks. Lunch bookings are available for groups. There is a wheelchair-accessible entrance at the rear of the café.
Accessible facilities at Langinkoski include Café Dagmar and the public toilets. The park area is not accessible, and there is no accessible entrance to the museum. Read more about accessibility.
Langinkoski Fishing Lodge is located in the Kotka National Urban Park of Kotka. Established in 2014, the Kotka National Urban Park encompasses 2,400 hectares of diverse natural landscapes and impressive historical architecture. The complex of buildings surrounding the Imperial Fishing Lodge at Langinkoski, along with the dense, protected forest growing around the rapids, are part of this award-winning park complex. Fishing is permitted at Langinkoski, provided you have first purchased a fishing licence. You can purchase a licence via the eraluvat.fi(ulkoinen linkki) service. The same website also provides important additional information on fishing practices in the area.
As Langinkoski is a nature reserve, there are no waste disposal facilities. Visitors must ensure they take any rubbish they bring with them out of the area.
