In the Boat Hall, you can admire boats from the collections of the Maritime Museum and the Kymenlaakso Museum. These boats have been used for racing and recreation, to serve the army and the Border Guard, and for fishing and rescue operations.
Taking pride of place in the centre of the boathouse is a 49eR-class sailing boat from the Maritime Museum’s collection, in which Thomas Johanson and Jyrki Järvi won gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Representing earlier Olympic history are a small Olympic rowing boat (1928) and the Australian rowing eight from the 1952 Games in Helsinki.
A small wooden Victoria boat brings to mind the artist and writer Tove Jansson, who travelled on the Victoria to her summer home in Klovharu for almost thirty years.
On the wall of the Boat Hall hangs the impressive tapestry *Archipelago* by the artist Kustaa Saksi.
