In the bookmark workshop, participants will learn how to decorate leather themselves using medieval techniques and make a leather bookmark. The workshop is suitable for both primary and secondary school pupils. The workshop lasts approximately 45 minutes.
In the Middle Ages, leather items, such as bags and knife sheaths, were decorated with the most imaginative patterns using various drawing sticks and stamps. In this way, the leather items were given beautiful relief patterns. In the bookmark workshop, participants will learn different methods for decorating leather with relief patterns, and everyone will receive a piece of leather the size of a bookmark to decorate.
The bookmark workshops will take place on Wednesday 14 October and Friday 15 October at 10.30 am, 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm. Participation in the workshop is included in the admission fee. Please register for the workshop at the castle museum shop. There is space for a maximum of 20 people per workshop.
