The core of the restaurant service is a bistro with approximately 120 seats, opening in the museum’s new extension, the Pavilion. In summer, the restaurant’s terrace with over 100 seats opens out into the museum courtyard park. In addition, guests will be served by a café operating in the historic main building.
”High-quality restaurant and café services are an integral part of the National Museum. We want to create an attractive restaurant in the heart of Helsinki that serves our broad clientele even outside the museum’s opening hours. Collaborating with a strong professional in the field ensures that we can serve our hundreds of thousands of visitors in the manner they expect,” says Liisa Lohtander, Chief Intendant, Head of Customer Experience (CX) at the National Museum.
In terms of size, location, and state-of-the-art technology, the meeting and event facilities at the National Museum offer a premium setting for both corporate and private events. For instance, in the new Gallery space, guests can celebrate in the middle of a National Museum exhibition. Other options include the intimate Elm Hall, a 220-person Auditorium, and the Fresco Hall, known for Akseli Gallen-Kallela’s ceiling frescoes.
”It is an honour to build the restaurant services for a cultural landmark as significant as the National Museum and to bring high-quality dining experiences to the museum experience. This architecturally unique complex in the heart of Helsinki provides an exceptional setting for restaurant operations,” says Jarno Suominen, CEO of NoHo Partners.
The National Museum’s restaurant and café will serve seven days a week during museum opening hours, and they will be accessible to all, including guests without a museum admission ticket. The restaurant will also remain open in the evening after the museum closes.
Advance booking for the National Museum’s meeting and event spaces, as well as the related catering services, is already underway. Venue rental is managed by the National Museum’s meeting and event services.
