The museum buildings and courtyards of the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum have been preserved as close to their original condition as possible. As a result, accessibility varies significantly between the buildings.
Most courtyard areas are easily accessible by wheelchair, but high thresholds, stairs, and the dim interiors of some buildings may present challenges.
For visitors using manual wheelchairs, we recommend bringing a personal assistant to help ensure smooth movement around the museum area. Personal assistants are admitted free of charge.
Guide dogs
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome.
Ticket sales
The museum ticket office is located in a ticket kiosk on Seurasaari Island. The distance from the Seurasaari end of the bridge to the kiosk is approximately 20 metres.
Tickets can also be purchased at the museum shop located in the Iisalmi Parsonage within the museum area. In addition, tickets can be bought in advance from the online store(ulkoinen linkki).

Café and restaurant
Café Antin Kaffeliiteri is located in the Antti farmstead. The café has an accessible entrance. The walking distance from the mainland to the café is approximately 700 metres.
Seurasaaren Juhlatalo, a restaurant for private events, is located about a 10-minute walk from the Seurasaari bridge.
Museum shop
The museum shop is located in the Iisalmi Parsonage. The walking distance from the mainland to the shop is approximately 600 metres.
Please note: The platform lift at the front veranda of the Parsonage has been out of service since 17 June. Maintenance has been requested. Access is currently only available via stairs.
WC
There are two public toilet buildings on Seurasaari Island maintained by the City of Helsinki. They are also accessible for wheelchair users. The facilities are located at the northern end of Seurasaari near the bridge leading to the island, and near the barbecue area in the middle of the island.
In addition, there is one public toilet on the mainland near the parking area at the end of the Seurasaari bridge. The facilities are managed by the City of Helsinki’s Urban Environment customer service(ulkoinen linkki).
Strollers
The museum does not provide strollers, but visitors may bring their own prams or strollers into the courtyards of the museum buildings.
