The room’s interior is largely furnished in the style of the 1860s. The Biedermeier and Neo-Rococo furniture belonged to the Mannerheim family. The canopy with decorative pom-poms above the mahogany Biedermeier bed is new and was made in 2003 based on the design of a curtain that hung above the bed as early as the beginning of the 20th century. The black rye bread from Oulu was a gift from General C.G.E. Mannerheim to the National Museum in 1920.
The wallpaper dates from the late 1850s or 1860s and imitates a padded wall covered with silk fabric. The blue-patterned Rococo tile stove dates from the mid-18th century and likely originates from the Karuna estate. The portrait of Marshal Mannerheim is a sketch by Axel Haartman for a full-scale painting, based on a photograph, created in 1954 and located at the House of the Knights in Helsinki.
